Ghost Ship is looking for a Generalist Artist [CLOSED]

Unread post by slu » 17 Jan 2017, 11:32

Arr, matey!
Skilled Generalist Artist wanted for the Ghost Ship crew!

Are you the crewmate we are searching for?
We are searching for an artist with a broad range of skills within the areas of Modelling, Design, and Concept Art. You will join a tiny team of dedicated artists, and your job will consist of a wide range of tasks depending on current need and your skillset - you might be tasked with anything from designing and/or modelling terrifying monsters, to thinking up new alien environments, designing and building UI and HUD elements, painting poster art, as well as simply helping shape the overall graphical vision and design of the game. The game features a stylized art style, so a good understanding of shape, silhouette, mass, and form are highly preferable to being able to replicate photorealism. An octopus-like mentality is strongly encouraged, as well as the ability to take charge of a task and running with it.

We are building the game in Unreal Engine 4, and primarily using 3D Studio MAX and Photoshop to create assets, so experience with these packages are a big plus.

Requirements
  • Strong skillset and experience within Modelling, Design, and Concept Art
  • Highly imaginative and creative
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Ability to thrive in an open game development environment
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills
  • Open to direction, feedback, and discussion
  • 5+ years industry experience
  • Able to embrace change
Plusses
  • Experience with Unreal Editor 4, Photoshop, and 3DS MAX
  • Strong foundation in the traditional arts, including but not limited to Industrial Design and Anatomy
  • A passion for putting your mark on the final product
  • Not prone to seasickness :-)
Practical info
  • Job start is ASAP!
  • Wage depends on qualifications
  • Our office is located in Copenhagen, Denmark - though it’s just a regular office, not a real ship yet!
  • Apply as soon as possible as we will review applications continuously
What can we offer?
We are offering a chance to join a startup game studio heading out for new exciting adventures on the high seas of hope. The game project you will work on is Deep Rock Galactic. It is in an early state of development, and you will be an integral part of the team with direct influence on the production and the game. As it is a co-op game, we are having playtests each day and we expect all crew to take part in the fun, give feedback and contribute with ideas.

How to contact us?
If you are our new Artist, then send a motivated application (including links to portfolio) and CV to soren@ghostship.dk.
