Italic is looking for a freelance animator

Unread post by Thomas Ryder » 21 Jul 2018, 10:52

Hi Spiludvikling,

We are Italic. We are looking for a freelance animator who can help us animate some of the characters in our game Midnight Girl.

Midnight Girl is a 2D point-and-click adventure that takes place exclusively in Paris during the Sixties. You play a young cat burglar in the pursuit of a precious diamond. The story, mood and style are inspired by French culture, Belgian comics and mid-sixties heist films.

We are looking for a character animator who has experience with skeleton animation in either 2D or 3D. The game is made in Unity, and we already have a lot of animations made in SoftImage. We intend to use Spine 2D For future development however.

Experience with game development a big plus.

Are you the animator we're looking for? Write us at info@italic.dk

Looking good by the way Thomas! :)
Looking forward to playing it down the line.

Any plans for controller support?

Thanks Jonas!

We have no plans for controller support for now.

We've actually experimented a lot with controller-friendly steering, similar to the controls in fx. Limbo. When testing the game however, we found that the players got somewhat confused by the controls. They automatically assumed that they were playing a classic point-and-click adventure and thus expected point-and-click controls. Since our core target audience are classic point-and-click players, we have chosen to go with controls that are familiar to them.
