HDR

Unread post by Crisium » 15 Jan 2010, 15:40

Hi all,

been working on some HDR, streaks, ghosts, and blooming

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S88hWArdpiY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQxedGxbGyg

the example with the trees is just a hdr backdrop
the example with the skybox is a hdr cubemap (of course)

i'm using textures from http://www.debevec.org/Probes/
but his textures are very small (512x512)

I would like to hear if anyone knows where I could get my hands on some
hdr vertical cross textures with higher resolution?

anyone?

Cool - it looks like a straight implementation of http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives ... DSTEAL.ppt - did you do anything extra with it?

Not sure about freeware hdr-images, but I believe you can buy them from http://www.hdri-locations.com/

Cheers,

Cheers,
well.. it's not a straight implementation as you you mentioned. These techniques are very common today and all look the same. I have not seen your link before now.. but looks very interesting.

I have actually added the ghost stuff 2 days ago... i'll get a video with it soon.. it's very cool.

the streaking in the ppt you have looks better than mine.. perhaps I should try and implement that one.

i can also see he is using A8R8G8B8 .. .must be an old article... i'm using 16/32F

he doesn't mention how he blurs.. but I used a standard gauss vertical and horizontal

I'm also going to implment the depth of field in a couple of days... and auto exposure for the tonemapping.

so I have some work still.

if you have any good articles about auto-exposure I would be very interested.

btw: I don't need the high detailed hdr cubemap images anymore.. I found a mistake I had and solved it and the cubemaps I have now are just fine :)

ADDED: here you can see the added lens flare( ghosts ) and auto exposure
