Mood Publishing (DK) is doing Valheim the board game for the Swedish Iron Gate Studio. Not a Kickstarter campaign but on the board game dedicated site Gamefond. I'm sure it will go very very well!

Steampage is up and a name change for (DK) Invisible Walls' new game NEIGHBORS. Formerly known as Just Perfect.

Also the company ran into trouble with their publishing Versus Evil/Tiny Build according to their Discord post.
Which puts the focus and updates for their release 'First Class Trouble' on a heavy pause if not completely ended.

Previously mentioned Airhead from (DK) Octato released on Nintendo Switch a few weeks ago. Following Steam and a bunch of other platforms earlier.

Sadly the sales on Steam doesn't look like it has been picking up since release.
So far the Steam reviews are good though! Let's hope for more traction.

The old Marathon games from Bungies goes free on Steam. Never played them back in the days as it was Mac exclusives. But looks like I didn't miss too much. The original Doom was plenty king on PC! Already had fun making Doom maps back then.

NICE!! A new DK/DE AMIGA game is in the works!
Hyperborea developed by old timer Amiga guys Torben Bakager Larsen @TorbenLarsen and German Daniel Müßener.
https://cope-com.com as a company (the original developers of Battle Squadron) is not a part of the new project. But Torben from Cope-Com certainly IS!
And how lovely to see him wielding pixels yet again.. no 3D or Photoshop look. As it should be! <3

For me this is basically looking like THE Battle Squadron 2 I always wanted. A sequel was in the works but never finished.. also it was a bit odd concept with melee combat instead of good old space ship shooting.

The 'too much' Battle Squadron art will be replaced in the final game according to developer comments. But personally I would certainly like to see there was a certain likeness.

Looking forward to following this project! Hope it will finish!

I figured the project was still ongoing as the latest video is only 5 months old. But then I just talked to Torben and he shared that the project is canned. Sadly!
It was originally started in 2017. So it went for quite some time.

Never got around to post some more of the sadder updates in the local industry.
Rounds of layoff has been hitting Half Past Yellow and PortaPlay (Bird Island)

For these smaller studios it may just be a few people. But still a 15-20%'ish percent reduction.

At Half Past Yellow the otherwise promising Spectacle project is also being canned as well as two layoffs.

To no big surprise IO-Interactive boosted their numbers on HITMAN - World of Assassination using a real world celebrity as an elusive target. Namely MMA star Conor McGregor. It wouldn't be an unrealistic estimate if they would do more of this in the future.

Since its launch, The Disruptor has brought in 150,000 daily active users to HITMAN World of Assassination, making it the most successful update since the release of HITMAN Freelancer in January 2023. To fully flesh out The Disruptor, our team managed to channel the best of Conor McGregor’s performance, both in body and mind, with praises pouring in regarding the character art and The Disruptor's quippy and (sometimes foul) tone.

Still a few more days to take out the target.
