1. Development Support 2009: Round Two Begins
A total of 6 million Danish crowns (DKK) have been granted for development support to Nordic game companies in 2009, and the available funds are allocated over two application rounds. The Development Support Expert Group have decided that the application deadline for the second round of 3 MDKK is

24:00 (midnight, at the end of the day) on 1 October 2009.

2. Icelandic Game Organisation announced
The Federation of Icelandic Industries, along with a group of companies, recently organized a series of workshop meetings, in an effort to forge a common vision for the future of the Icelandic Gaming Industry. The main result of that work is the creation of a new organization (IGI – Icelandic Gaming Industry) that will follow up on policies and prospects, commonly shared by the involved parties. 6.Nordic Game at Tokyo Game Show 2009
The second annual Nordic Game visit to Tokyo is scheduled for 23-30 Sept., and the group consists of representatives from game companies, educational institutions and organisations from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

8. Thank you for Gamescom 2009!
Nordic Game participated in Europe’s largest games event, Gamescom in Cologne, Germany on 19-23 August. The Nordic Game booth was located at the Gamescom Business Area, showcasing a record-breaking 26 Nordic game companies and organisations, and once again exemplifying the diversity of the ever-growing Nordic games industry. We would like to thank all participants at our booth for a great show. We hope to see you again next year!

9. Seminar at the Buster Film Festival
On 23 September a seminar about the cooperation between the film and games industry will take place at the annual Buster Film Festival in Copenhagen. The theme for the seminar will be an investigation of the possibilities for a stronger cooperation between makers of Nordic children’s games and films.

The seminar will use two cases as the starting point, "Knerten" (fall 09) and
"Prop og Bertha" (work in progress), both of which have been granted support and are being produced as films and games at the same time. The producers along with representatives from national and European support programs will discuss initiatives that can better the collaboration. Interested in joining?
