The biggest distributor of games in the Nordics starts digital game publishing branch
PAN Vision, the biggest independent distributor of games in the Nordics, announces the start of a new digital games publishing unit. The unit will be a natural part of the already existing physical game publishing business branch and will primarily focus on the game developers in the Nordic countries. The company will soon announce its first two games and also two recently established partnerships.
- To meet the changes of a market where an increasing amount of entertainment is distributed digitally, PAN Vision has since a few years ago focused on strengthening its publishing business for both films and games. We can now offer both small and large developers a platform from which they can bring their games to the international market, says Per Almgren, CEO PAN Vision.
PAN Vision, having an established distribution and publishing business for physical film and game products, sees an increasing interest in digitally distributed games from both the developers’ and the consumers’ perspective. Except the possibility to bring the existing game catalogue to digital distribution, PAN Vision will publish new games for PC, consoles and mobile phones.
During the last year, PAN Vision has monitored the digital games market and met with over 50 developers throughout Europe. The interest to work together is large. Among other things, PAN Vision has identified a need for several traditional publisher activities, ranging from funding and marketing to localization and testing.
- Through the partnerships between ourselves and developers that are active in the same region, we together can provide the strength needed for global success in the tough competitor landscape within the different digital markets. We are open to partner in projects for any digital platform, and we will also look to bring out our own games and concepts, says Mathias Styrström, Digital Business Manager at PAN Vision.
