Nordic Game Conference, in collaboration with the Copenhagen Game Collective, is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Nordic Game Indie Night showcase. The purpose of the showcase is to call attention to talented indie developers from around the Nordic region. Last year’s showcase featured a variety of different indies, from Swedish IGF Nuovo winner Cactus to the Norway-based D-Pad Studio.

This year, the showcase will once again be curated by the Copenhagen Game Collective. This time, however, we’re making an open call for submissions. Are you an indie developer based in the Nordic region? Are you working on a game that’s innovative, special, or noteworthy in some way? Or maybe it’s just really fun? We want to see it!

To submit your game, email the Copenhagen Game Collective (submit@cphgc.org) with the following info:
  • Title and description of the game
    Links to screenshots and/or video
Background about you or your team, including where you’re based
The submission deadline is Tuesday, March 15.

We’ll confirm by email if we’ve received your submission. We may also follow up to ask you for a playable demo.

Then, we’ll send out notifications by mid April.

The showcase takes place in Malmö, Sweden, as a part of the 2011 Nordic Game Conference. On the evening of May 10, the showcase kicks off with Nordic Game Indie Night, a party featuring live music and a round table discussion with the game makers themselves. The party is free and open to the public. The audience will choose the 2011 “Nordic Indie Sensation” award from the invited games.

Throughout the conference, the invited games will then be exhibited on the conference showfloor for all the conference attendees to try.

Invited developers will receive free travel and entry (for one person) to the 2011 Nordic Game Conference, as well as accommodation in Malmö.

***UPDATE***

We have extended the deadline for submissions to Monday, March 21.

Remember to submit whatever cool shit you are working on, we don't care about the state of completion (prototype / polished & published) we don't care about the scale (one man hobby project / venture funded emo-platformer), we only care about giving a lot of exposure to and meeting some cool indie game devvelopers from the Nordic region.

Remember, the selected projects will get a ticket to Nordic Game Conference, accommodation and transport covered, and a chance to showcase their game during the Nordic Game Indie Night as well as during the real conference.
