Dear Growing Gamers
We would like to invite you for the next Growing Games workshop - this time on leadership. The workshop will be held on December 13th from 9.00 to 17.30 at Brandt and Lauritzen, Amaliegade 35, 1256 Kbh. K., followed by a beer and some networking.
Leadership
The theme for the workshop will be leadership and the challenges you face when you go from being an entrepreneur to running a business. You will hear about different aspects regarding leadership – ranging from the practice of being a leader to a brief introduction to some of the legal aspects of being an employer:
Søren E. Jacobsen from SEJ Consult will tell us about his experiences as a leader of creatives and primadonnas in companies such as DR, Nordisk Film and Egmont (the presentation will be in danish).
Rasmus Rune Nielsen from 2+1 Ideas Agency will share his story with you. His story goes from starting a business straight out of university together with two friends over growing to a successful business including getting new partners, having to fire friends, establishing an office in China and finally exiting the company.
Babak Djarahi from DI-ITEK will give you an introduction to the juridical aspects of being an employer. He will give you an overview of potential pitfalls and some useful advice on how to avoid them.
Nicholas Hawtin from CONNECT Denmark will introduce you to the merits of organisation based on his experiences from the American Army.
Homework
Prior to the workshop we ask you to fill out the attached document with a challenge in relation to leadership and employment law. Pitching
Like last time we have put together at program of short talks and lots of discussions and feedback.
At the end of the day from 16.00 – 17.30 you will have the chance to pitch for a panel again. Last time we saw how much for example BetaDwarf had improved their pitch and we strongly recommend that you all use the change to work on your pitching skills.
