Livestreaming for a month

Hi there!

We’re 4 guys from a Danish start-up company called TYPO Interactive. We are all students, and as a part of the education, two of us have the opportunity to work in the company fulltime for 10 weeks. As part of this period, we have decided to recreate one of our own mobile games in one month. The game was originally created for Nordic Game Jam 2014, but we are unable to add it to Play Store due to the content ([Watch here] or [try it out for yourself] (on Android)). The content of the new game will be decided by you!

As part of the challenge, we want to stream it all so you can follow the progress and be in direct contact with us during the development - perhaps you can even help us out if you have some tips. We constantly need feedback to create a game that is fun to play, so please help us out!

The development will start in exactly one month (August 11) and will be broadcast at http://twitch.tv/typo_wraa

Our requirements for the game:
- Mobile platform (iOS, Android).
- The graphical style of the game will be 2D pixel art.
- The game will include real-time multiplayer.
- Play time should not exceed 2 minutes per session.

On the stream we will show the work process of one programmer and two graphical artists.

The stream will be controlled in such a way that if any of us have anything important to show, it will switch to that person's POV. If you are watching and want to see something specific, don’t hesitate to ask.

We will also write blogs on our own website at http://typointeractive.dk/blog

You are more than welcome to ask questions, and we will do our best to reply as fast as possible.
You can contact us on:
- twitch - pm & chat (while stream is online)
- twitter
- facebook
- mail - contact@typointeractive.dk
- reddit - /u/LeStraw & /u/wRaa
and of course in this thread

Hey again everyone

It’s about time to let you in on our plans for the project!
As i stated in our previous post we are going to rework an old game jam project, the plan for the game is that it will actually be a game consisting of multiple online multiplayer minigames where one of them is based on the original gameplay from the game jam project. We decided to make 3 minigames during this 1 month project and we need you to help us design the games, so it is important for us to hear your ideas and your opinion on everything we do!

To give you a little idea of what we have in mind for a normal game session, here’s an example:

- Open the game
- Login to google play services
- Press play
- Get a random opponent in a random mini game
- Play max 2 min
- Game over

We do of course want you to be able to play with your friends so we will implement ‘challenge a friend’ as well.

In the game a player will be shown as an avatar without a name, players will be able to customize the avatar (limited to change preset items like hair, shirt, pants etc.) The minigames will then be a battle between the avatars.

This is the plans we currently have for the game itself, so there are still a lot of big choices to make for the actual game play, and we hope that you will help us on the right track to make some awesome minigames!

Now to the project.

The project will run over 4 weeks from the 11th. August, where we will be streaming from Monday to Friday 10-17 CET.

Pre week (this week)
- Concepts for theme
- Basic menu
- Core multiplayer systems
- 1 hour Test stream

Week 1
- Minigame 1, this game will be based on the game jam project

Week 2
- Minigame 2, based on community input and ideas

Week 3
- Minigame 3, based on community input and ideas

Week 4
- Finishing up

As you can see, our plans depends a lot on your interaction with us, and we hope you will help contribute to the development by providing feedback and ideas.

The stream

I will be running the stream and chat. The stream will be a place where you can interact directly with us and watch live development, we are not streaming for the sake of trying to be entertaining but simply to let you into our studio and be a part of the team!
