A look at the new Enfusion Engine by Bohemia Interactive, creators of the Arma series.
It's a proprietary engine with modding support.
An earlier version of their in-house engine did spawn Day-Z as a stand alone game later, after debuting as a mod for ArmA 2.

I did a few missions and modding things for fun back in the Operation Flashpoint days... some 20 years ago. 8O Yikes!
It was a gound breaking game back then. Though the general CCC (Character, controls, camera) felt super janky. But there was just so much the game could do within the confines of realistic milsim.

The new engine is looking pretty nice! They have really nailed the range and quality of the view distance.

Oh by the way! Be caureful if you are ever doing work related military game research photo ops. You could end up in bad places! 8O

Impressive stuff in UNIGINE 2.15!
The engine never really caught on in games and instead focused on industrial simulation/visualization purposes running on Windows PCs. It is a full game engine nonetheless.

Nice to see they are still alive and kicking ass!

The community edition is free!

So Ali Emek and a lot of the 'LogicArtists' goes all out on NFT blockchain gaming in the new company Dynasty Studios Inc. (US registered) it seems.

Guess there are good (if not certain) chances Ali and cofounders will end up filthy rich in the process of this new endeavor! (If everything goes the current bonkers NFT logic way anyways). Bright Star Studios with their Ember Sword project certainly went crazy long before launching anything playable.

I wonder what will happen to the Expeditions IP after THQ Nordic bought the full rights to it back in 2018. It would be likely to just fizzle out after the launch of Expeditions: Rome unless THQ has another studio targeted to lift the production of another entry in the series. But that might be a stretch. I could imagine the team would support Rome with updates and perhaps a bit of DLC for some time?! But would mostly transition to support the new company.

Btw. Gave the Rome demo a short play. Really nice production! A clear step up in quality and ambition from previous titles.
They also went Unreal Engine with Expeditions: Rome. So no reuse of the code base from the older Unity based games. Must have been a lot of work!

Otherwise the upcoming project codenamed HAN sounds pretty damn ambitious! Described as a massively multiplayer survival triple-A-quality game. With interchangeable NFT assets between future titles within the franchise. So that's a bite to chew!

So far LogicArtists has proven they can deliver titles of pretty good quality and happy players. So no real big worries in them actually delivering. Only time will tell if the game will appeal to the right audiences. The recent NFT announcents on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and Ghost Recon was certainly met with an exteme backlash from the community. So that can be tricky business.
Though being a new IP, the HAN project would be on a different playing field. Hard to say how it will land. They face similar challenges of who to appeal to. Gamers or the small community of hardcore NFT bros only in it for the investment opportunity.
If they land it just right in the NFT/blockchain crowd they could be >very< well off. The potential is certainly there. And so far it's off to a excellent start with a substantial investment. If the traditional gamer community will embrance the concept in the long run is a different question. The current broad gamer temperature of NFT acceptance is clearly a hard no!
Project HAN is years out before release, things 'could' change before release!? We'll see!

Personally I'm not the right to ask. Heck.. I've never even bought a skin in a game before. Just don't care! But the kiddo is a completely different story.

Anyways let's hope the guys will push through and deliver an awesome game. GL team!

Nice of you to drop by the site now and then and reading my old-man grumblings, typos, bad grammer, poor writing, late edit posts and general brainfarts. (I hope you all survive!)

Just a quick indie reco of Astro Duel! Back from 2016 by Rusty Moyher.
Grabbed a bunch of local multiplayer titles on sale and this one stood out so far.

It's just super fun! Play it with friends, kids or otherwise. It's also for cheaps currently. Well worth the price.
It's also out on Switch for even cheaper.

There was also a bit of a tease of a new Slipgate/3D Realms project in the works. Possibly based on 'cult-classic IP'? Or maybe that's a different project reference.
Otherwise mentions of the gameplay being of ther old school RTS type with base building has been made.

Anyways if you have an old school craving for the more or less hibernating RTS genre. There is the free OpenRA project. Featuring fan recreations of Dune 2000, Command & Conquer and Red Alert series. Great stuff on LAN with friends!
https://www.openra.net/

**Update:
More teasing from 3D Realms.
But most certainly it's another FPS project. Update: It is certainly coop horror shooter Ripout developed by Serbian Pet Project Games. So I guess 3D Realms will be publishing that project! Looks super great! Good on them and excellent fit! :)

Mutant Karate Canary by Troldkarlens Hat. Aka. Bo Blond Daugaard, is playable as a demo. Downloadable or directly in the browser.

Protip you should read up on the controls. As it is a bit unconventional in it's approach to movement.
But a cute little game nonetheless! Give it a spin!

So a bit of DK('ish) game spotting

Signe C J is working on a Godot based project. A, so far untitled to my knowledge, 2D RPG.

QUOTE: The game takes inspiration from games like Fallout 1+2, Legend of Zelda, Stardew Valley and my own interest in robots

In the game out can find, build, upgrade and program our own robots to help you on you adventures.

Sounds pretty cool!

ARBlox is closing down the company and they made their (mostly )APK files freely available on itch!
https://arblox.itch.io/

Cheers to the ARBlox guys! Awesome you gave the startup dream a shot!
I was indeed very much part of the initial drivning force with Uffe on a sparetime basis. The initial idea was to do.. well basically to do, what is now referred to as the metaverse! An online social creative space accessible from everything from VR, AR, desktop and mobile devices. I still remember the day I pitched the idea to Uffe (friend from the napnok days). His mind looked totally blown! 8O Honestly it was just a quick pitch idea I came up with the day before our meeting. And I had other ideas in the sleeve I'd rather work on. But the excitement of the new idea moment and Uffes enthusiasm was winning me over. So why not give it a shot! Both knowing it was a super high risk project.

We made this super early attempt (visionary/dreamy perhaps) starting out with the ARBlox app back in 2017/18 on mobile when the first AR SDK (ARCore) for Android landed. We built ARBlox with social sharing feed, creative buliding tools, physics interaction when walking around a room and what not, in an accessible package starting out with mobile. Me and Uffe had a lot of fun working on such a leap of faith project, It was a really interesting and creative challenge. Uffe even put in multiplayer in later on mobile.
A bit later we got Jeppe on board to boost the business side of things.
We got as far a being part of the Accelerace program. But already there I had doubts about my involvement in the project. And after seeing the early sort of launch reactions on the first launch demo where people really didn't pick up on the concept. Mobile outward facing AR being a new weird alien thing for the broad masses. They just didn't connect with it in that form. You could also say the Accelerace experience accelerated my doubt even further. (Also I have yet to spot anybody!?! in the wild using outward facing AR functionality on mobile phones since the introduction on iOS and Android year ago)
So after the initial boost of creative power, my interest in the project was veining and it was hard to find real true heartfelt motivation to work on the project on the side.
Also bringing more people on a project also brings more complexities. Jeppe wanted to take it in a direction of releasing a multitude of small AR apps based on the main AR apps technology. With a focus on a more casual games/F2P angle. Totally makes sense in the mobile market. But I honestly just really didn't feel it.
Then suddenly I also found the love of my life! <3 (now future wife) And wanted to take my time and priorities there (besides kiddo priorities and a new full time job), so I pulled out of the project, perhaps at an inconvenient time.
Afterwards Uffe and Jeppe managed to release a bunch of AR titles. Getting a bit of funding here and there. Though eventually leading to not focusing on the AR part anymore and trying to give some other projects like the The Door and Slide Puzzle a chance. And sadly finally leading to this eventual conclusion, many lessons learned!

Thank you for giving my crazy idea a moonshot! It was fun while it lasted! Even after I pulled out of the project early. Love you guys! <3

Also Uffe and Jeppe has been doing super fine in their respective new jobs for a long while now. No worries there whatsoever. :)

The website will probably be alive for some time still. But not forever.

Sounds cool! :)
Kiddo will get HITMAN 3 for his 12th birthday just around the corner then!
Fun story! :) When Roblox was down for some days he suddenly wanted to play HITMAN 2! :D I think he managed to complete all missions that (dad)weekend.
He is a big Hitman fan now. And I can sleep a little lighter knowing he is not completely off the tracks only playing trashy Roblox games. There is still hope! ;) :D :D
