A look back at Far Cry 3! :)

Damn it's already 10 years ago now!
Sadly they recently closed down multiplayer.. like the thing I actually worked on!!

Besides that I LOVED playing the single player campaign. The last island was pretty rushed and weak in comparison to the rest of the game.. but that happens in gamedev.
Already when we were playing super early versions of the SP map the game felt like it had potential.

And in case you were curious here are some of the "my" coop and PVP maps. :) (obviously it was a team effort but there is a lot of Jonas in these maps). I think we did pretty good with a game that had to run on PS3.
Internally the maps all had nordic mythological codenames like Sleipnir, Loki and Huginn.

Also I was working on a slow-ass computer and the editor Dunia (highly modified Cryengine off-shoot) was VERY prone to crashing. Not the most pleasant work environment. :|
But it was an amazing learning experience with lots of awesome people on the team.

DK 'Project Exoticez - Open World Game' Kickstarter by the group Studenz Boyz.

Never heard about the project before.. apparently in development since 2014 and they are aiming for a 2024 release date.

Sadly the Kickstarter doesn't look very likely to happen from these very early projections.

Tons of (currently at 1596) free photogrammetry scanned 3D plants and animals by ffish.asia / floraZia.com in Japan.
Commercial use is allowed with attribution. And the assets might not be quite game ready out of the box. Unreal (might?) handle just fine with enabling the gLTF importer and Nanite on import.
