Simplygon 2.8 Review
Simplygon was developed and released in 2007 with one single purpose, to simplify and optimize complex 3d meshes. Whether used to create LOD models for games or to crunch a heavy model for transporting over the Web, the original program succeeded in this goal and now a couple of years later, the developers at Donya Labs have recently released version 2.8 of the software.
The new version includes a number of improvements including support for the Collada format, a plug-in for 3ds Max, and the release of an versatile SDK that can be used to integrate the Simplygon technology into your favorite software tools.

Sooo - LET'S GET RRRREADY TO GRRRUMBLE!

Jumping the shark, imho. And perhaps even jumping the landshark under different post below....

Free option - brilliant. Xbox 360 support - adding fat instead of trimming it.

Det er jo godt der er akademisk input til spilbranchen herhjemme (pfffhhihihiahehe...ahem, åh undskyld) - jeg har med åbent sind prøvet at gnave mig igennem både phD afhandlinger og tidl. bøger, men får de her prikker for øjnene og små sure opstød i munden (Acid Reflux - now, there's a good game title! Not to be confused with Aeon Flux....).

Believe me, I've been there recently - and despite a dedicated effort in some areas, it's sinking because loads of resources were spent on hype/marketing and less on decent content.

"iPhone developer Smells Like Donkey has revealed that as many as 90 per cent of players submitting scores for its latest game, Tap-Fu, are playing with a pirated copy....The developer also discovered that its game was available on illegitimate download sites within 40 minutes of it going live on the App Store, using a method it said is "surprisingly much easier than actually buying it on iTunes."

versus

"Paul Farley of Tag Games, creators of Car Jack Streets, has said that iPhone and iPod Touch penetration could reach between 200 and 300 million as the device is shipped into China and Russia."
