About the Project:

Set during the American civil war, War of Rights aims to bring players into the midst of several famous battles. Gameplay focused on realism will enable players to fully engross themselves into the ferocious combat of the era. Featuring several regiments, players will quickly learn the benefits of fighting together. An organized and tactically clever chain of command will be needed in order to succeed. Players will be able to enlist as different ranks spanning from Private to General of the army, each with its own distinct role and play style. Utilizing CryENGINE 3's sheer amount of power, getting as many players online as possible and thereby ensuring massive battles will be one of the priorities throughout the development.

About Us:

War of Rights is a work of passion. The development is purely driven by the will to succeed in creating a game we want to play and the huge interest we have in the theme of the American Civil War. Being gamers our entire lives, we feel we have a rather good understanding of the current market, what's lacking in terms of innovation and what game mechanics would be needed to be implemented in order for our game to succeed. Too long have we been spoon fed generic shooter games, all set within the same period. Too long have we been getting games focusing on solo play, "Rambo" style run and gunning and scoreboards with number of kills gained. We feel War of Rights is the answer to the oversaturated market of such games. This is a non paied project but our goal is to go retail somewhere down the road.

Positions Available:

We're looking for other like-minded developers to join us. When joining the development of War of Rights, a steady and constant workflow and commitment is far more important than a high number of hours a week.

When developing War Of Rights. One of our key focuses, is to keep the assets, the levels, the sound and the general feel of the game as close to how it was in real life. This means, looking at a ton of pictures of various assets, and perhaps revisiting old assets to improve the details when comparing it to a real life photo.

Current Progress

The project has currently been underway for about half a year. At the moment we're working on the battle of Antietam. Some of the following screenshots are taken from that map. We’ve already created some of the main assets for that map such as Dunker Church, Burnside Bridge. But in this kind of environment, vegetation is of course the main kind of assets we need. We’ve already got a few trees bushes, different kinds of grass, a wooden fence and a stonewall. But the environment can never get too detailed and therefore we can always use more assets, especially vegetation.
