We are looking to expand the Gameglobe team with a web programmer with extensive Python/Django experience.
Gameglobe is a plugin based browser game featuring user generated content and high production value. Many aspects of the game are technologically multifaceted spanning Javascript and engine code on the client and Django and infrastructure components on the backend.
This is why the ideal candidate will be experienced not only with Python/Django, but also with other layers of web stacks from databases and web servers, to JavaScript and CSS. In this job you will
- Work with designers to flesh our technological design of new features.
Implement, test and deploy features.
Debug, optimize and improve existing code.
- Several years of experience working with web development.
Experience with Python/Django.
Experience with several of: Linux/Unix, web servers, memcached, NoSQL databases, SQL databases, AWS/EC2.
A broad interest and knowledge of ‘how the internet works’.
Good English skills (spoken and written)
- Experience with Cloud and/or AWS. Deploying and operating instances.
Ability to take part of the operational responsibility
Skills within HTML, JavaScript (+ jQuery), CSS.
Knowledge of C/C++, games programming.
Interest in and knowledge about how large websites work behind the scenes.
- You are self-motivated and can work independently.
You can balance long term goals with short term firefighting without going nuts.
