Technical Support Engineer - Unity Technologies

With the imminent release of Unity 3.0 two positions have been created for Technical Support Engineers. Based in the UK, support engineers respond to incoming technical issues from Unity users. Support engineers will have deep knowledge of Unity and how it is used in large projects. Our users typically work on very tight schedules and require rapid and accurate assistance. You will be instrumental in providing a world-class support service to key Unity users. You will be a natural problem solver, teacher and helper. You understand that a friendly, can-do approach to support can help our users get the best from our tools. Your interactions with users will leave them with a technical solution and a smile on their face. In this position you will be reporting to the QA Director.
Goals and responsibilities:
- Monitor incoming support queue for hard-core technical issues
- Help prioritize support issues from users
- Investigate, research and understand user problems, interacting with the respondent and internal development engineers as needed
- Provide timely, accurate and complete solutions
- Contribute to Answers and Community websites
- Enhance, expand and develop documentation and resource materials
- Participate in tele-conferences, video-conferences and on-site visits as required
Requirements:
- One years experience using Unity in a production environment
- Excellent C++/C programming skills
- Experience in debugging, optimization and profiling
- Knowledge of scripting languages including Javascript, C# and Boo
- Knowledge of 2D and 3D content creation tools
Additional Requirements & Nice-to-haves:
- Must be diplomatic and cool under pressure
- Possess a can-do, no-problem-too-big-or-too-small attitude
- Experience of console development a distinct advantage
- Must be fluent in English, other languages an advantage
- Our users are located around the world so ability to work flexible hours either on an ad-hoc or regular is an advantage
