Apex looking for game programmers
Posted: 18 Dec 2012, 13:01
Apex is an established game developer on the Danish game dev scene. We have so far been developing games primarily for PC/web, but also for Nintendo and iOS. Now we are in the process of establishing a small internal team for a range of upcoming iOS games, developed on the Unity3D technology.
Currently we are having one fully funded game in the pipeline, a turn-based action adventure. Furthermore we are looking for the very last funds for two other games also for iOS – one is a single player game with real money shopping options, and the other is an episodic 3rd person action adventure game.
You have both experience with and passion for making great games and you like to be part of a small team where you will be involved in all types of programming tasks. You will primarily work on our iOS games, but you are open to also be involved in other programming tasks during some periods (both on other games but also tasks that are non-game related). You take pride in delivering quality code by testing and debugging before handing your work over.
Requirements:
• At least a few years of experience with programming games
• Good at translating the game designer's vision into fun game play
• Experience with working closely with 2D/3D artists, audio designers etc., getting assets into the game
• Strong in debugging and delivering solid quality code
• Experience with Unity based iOS game development
Advantages:
• Completed at least one larger game production from beginning to end
• Experience with in-game purchasing
• Experience using a 3D game engine or framework including level editing tools
• Experience with C# programming for the Unity3D engine
• Experience programming games with existing networking solutions (e.g. Photon/Smartfox)
• Experience developing character based 3D games
• Experience programming physics, AI, camera control, GUI, character animation control, input handling etc.
• Experience with agile development methods (e.g. SCRUM)
• Experience working with automated testing solutions
• Experience with game architecture
We’re a bunch of nice people in one medium sized team. We need you to fit in as a person as well as being a great programmer – good personality and little bit of weirdness is an advantage
Please send an application in Danish or English describing yourself, your abilities and ambitions, your CV including specification of previous professional roles and responsibilities. Please include your level of competence in various disciplines (eg. math, physics, AI/path finding, GUI, C#, Unity, etc.) in your application or CV.
Write to: job(at)apex.dk as soon as possible as we will have ongoing interviews from the beginning of January.
Email attachments are accepted up to 10 MB. Otherwise a link to download the file(s), or your website is accepted as well.
