Hello everyone that stopped by this thread, to get the sense of me, and see if I may have potential to come aboard one of your lovely game projects.
About:
My name is Kevin Jensen Petersen, I'm 19 and i've been developing games the past 5 years. Since then my life completely changed from being the nerdy guy in school, to actually achieve results in Game Development.
Alot of people see game development, as an opportunity to create something cool and awesome. I say that, it doesn't nercessarily have to match it. My goal when developing games, is to make people have an experience. Whether it be through a life changing event when defeating a boss battle or maybe gaining knowledge of something useful in the long run.
When I think of games, I think of them as unique pieces of meteorites. They might seem like the same thing as anything else, but in theory all of them is completely unique, through their own artstyle and gameplay mechanics.
Skills:
I've been developing a few prototypes aswell as Game Jam games in different languages. My primary programming language is C# combined with the game engine 'Unity 3D', however I have also done game programming in Java with LWJGL and JavaScript with HTML5.
When talking experience with each language, it really depends on the definition of it. I've been programming with C# and Java since I first learned them back in 2009, and from there i've just experimented with the syntax and libraries.
Languages isn't hard to learn, altho it is hard to master. This is ofcourse not without saying that no one knows everything, and therefore read-up on things is almost guaranteed to happen sometimes.
Examples:
When I create games, I always try to make them as unique as possible, however adding twists to already existing gameplay mechanics is a nice way of showing off ideas.
My current project that I'm working fulltime on at the moment, is a game called "Light Source". In short, Light Source is an experimental game, that focuses on a new concept of gameplay. You play as a 'Light Source', that has to solve puzzles to conquer the victory of the puzzle maps.
I have other projects and experiments that i've been programming, that can be seen on my LinkedIn right here: http://dk.linkedin.com/pub/kevin-jensen ... 73/a5a/740
Experience:
Ofcourse, all I have done is fine and everything. But do I have any experience? To that I can tell you not much. Most of the time while i've been developing and programming games, i've been studying on the side which resulted that I could not have a job and study together.
However, a few months ago I finally finished my Programmer exam, and got the education I've been working on to get the best understanding of programming OOP and OOD in a whole.
Even tho I couldn't have a job beside my study, I did work free-of-charge with a company that could respect my study times, while also working on the projects and tasks they asked me to do. This is also currently where I voluntarily work.
The reason being I'm looking for a full- or parttime job, is the challenge. I've been stuck in a well for way too long, just doing the same thing over and over again, and doesn't suit my expectations. I want to work on some interesting and unique opportunities, that can give me some great experience with workflow and teamworking.
