Posted: 16 Dec 2014, 15:37
PortaPlay is looking for a unpaid level design intern with artistic flair or a gameplay interested level artist.
A designer/artist who can make levels that plays and looks interesting, in our upcoming real-time space tactics game - Tales from the Void (for PC + high end tablets):
-Prototype video of the game - 2 month old video.
The game is about a group of WW1 soldiers stranded on an alien asteroid field, trying to get back to Earth.
The gameplay revolves around movement in a 3D landscape with hazards, strategic positioning, coordinated attacts, soldier customization etc.
And features mechanics like path-drawing, free roaming on 3D levels, bullet-time based turn planning, physics based gun-play, low-g movement, spotting, strange weapons and aliens etc.
The core gameplay and level pipeline will be established before the start date of the internship, leaving you with only the fun parts - creating cool content.
-in-game screenshot of a combat situation with our favorite alien - "Mr licky-licky" (present game state, non-photoshopped).
Your tasks will be e.g.:
-Level prorotyping in sand (http://www.spiludvikling.dk/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3332)
-Terrain mesh creation in 3D program
-Opposition placement (hazards, alien spawns, patrol routes etc)
-Some gameplay scripting (mission objectives, special events etc.)
-Props placement (decoration, obstacles, secondary objectives etc).
-Aestetic dress-up (environmental props like rocks, plants etc.)
-Level sorroundings (skybox tweaking, surrounding rock formations, lights tweaking etc).
What we are looking for
-Unity experience
-3D level design and/or level decoration experience
-Aestetic "feel" for landscapes
-Independent and solution orientated
-Artistic opinion and ambition
-Humor
