Game Programmer

Description

We are looking for game programmers to work on existing and new games. Our game clients are written in ActionScript 3.0, but we don't rely on a lot of Flash-specific features, to keep porting to non-Flash platforms as easy as possible. If you know C++, you'll be in a good position to work for us, even with no prior ActionScript experience.

The job will include developing and debugging new game features, supporting artists and designers, and maintaining a live project. Our teams are small, so you're expected to have a 'generalist' attitude, willing and able to handle different types of tasks as they crop up.

You will be assigned to a specific game, but it's not unlikely that some of your code could get reused on multiple projects.

Qualifications

You should have a good knowledge of one or more object-oriented languages, e.g. C++, C#, Java, or ActionScript. Previous experience with game programming, either professionally or as side projects, is a big plus. A number of our tools and services are written in Python, so knowing that language is a help too.

You will be working as part of a team, so we expect you to have good communication and collaboration skills. Live projects can get busy, and at times there will be a lot going on, so you should be able to multitask and manage deadlines.

Bonus Points

We integrate a lot of Facebook features in our games, so knowledge of that platform is a plus. Our games run off Amazon Web Services, so any experience with that is helpful, as is experience with databases (CouchBase and MySQL, in particular). Knowledge of the iOS and Android platforms is valuable as well.
