House on Fire is looking for a talented environment artist to help develop a concept into a prototype. Currently it is a 3 month contract starting as soon as possible, which can become a permanent full time position.

About you
You are driven by your imagination and love to turn ideas into compelling graphical experiences. You are probably an artist with tech skills and see the values in being a part of everything from concept to final product. You have a keen eye for the big picture, but also for the smallest detail.

You get your inspiration from books, movies, TV, everywhere - not just games. You are not afraid to stand out with your work, you care about others opinion and knows that game development is an iterative process with many constraints.

The job
Together we will design and implement a level for the demo that shows its full potential. We need to find a design and style that grabs the heart of our audience, what works and what doesn’t, what tickles the imagination of the player and how we can use that in the final environmental design of the game.

Your primary task is to design, model, texture and add effects to the level and give it the polish needed to make sure we have a kick ass demo, that will sell the game for further investment.

About the game

An adventure game about a young brother and sister from a hunger plagued American family.

The game takes place in a forest in the autumn somewhere in rural northern America. Everything is beautiful and colorful, but nature is also cruel and unforgiving with death lurking at every corner. Life and death is co-dependent and one's survival may be the result of somebody else's death. This contrast is visualized both in environments and characters.

The game has a very subjective visual style that reflects the main character's emotional states in very stylized manner.

Target platforms: iOS and Android.
Genre: 3D Action Adventure, Suspense

About us
House on Fire is an independent studio located in Copenhagen. We recently developed the acclaimed “The Silent Age” on mobile, which has since been released on PC, Mac and Steam.
