We are seeking a skilled software developer to join our small tight knit studio in central Copenhagen.

We are currently developing Word Tag: A 3D action platformer with embedded vocabulary learning.

The studio
The founding principle of the studio is to combine learning with state of the art game development. We consider ourselves to be game developers first and foremost as we believe a fantastic game is essential for the learning aspect to be successful.

This studio is part of Mrs Wordsmith, an educational company, with offices around the world, that aims to make kids laugh while learning. We mainly collaborate with the London office, where a team of literacy experts ensure that the educational aspect of the game is backed by the latest and best research into vocabulary learning.

The team

The Word Tag team is made up of around 12 passionate game developers. It is a healthy mix of young and experienced talent. Each member is extremely talented in their field and all of them are super nice people. The team size also means that each member has a large impact on the game. The hierarchy of the team is shallow and the decision makers are highly accessible.

Your role

For this role we are looking for a person with excellent technical skills, a deep understanding of robust software development and a clear understanding of best practices. Your main responsibility will be to make the game development process run as smoothly as possible.

Salary is competitive including a pension scheme. While our offices are nice it is your decision if you prefer to work from home.

Skills & requirements
The core requirement is a real love for keeping the engines running in a creative environment. This requires technical skills but more importantly people skills. You need to be genuinely helpful with a desire to create quality of life improvements for the team.

  • 2+ years of experience, ideally involving mobile development
  • Strong C#/ .NET knowledge
  • Unity experience
  • Well founded in math, algorithms and data structures
  • Comfortable with Git
  • Solid understanding of programming best practices
Nice to haves
  • Game development experience
  • Avid gamer
