Proactive Tools and Backend Developer - Ghost Ship Games

The Game and The Team:
Ghost Ship Games is a cozy, little game studio of about 40 souls, located in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. We strive for excellent working conditions, letting our people blossom, and Open Game Development - both within the team and our million-strong player community. Get your hands dirty by delving into multiple aspects of game development, and tweak your results to perfection through discussion and feedback from our players.
Our close interaction with our community is at the core of our Open Development philosophy. And since we aim to release new updates several times a year, you won’t have to wait long to see your work in action.
The Tools & Backend team is currently two persons plus the manager. Everybody works together and shares several tasks, such as 3rd party integrations, various R&D work and all the ad hoc things.
What will you be doing:
One of your colleagues focuses mainly on developing tools, Building systems and ensuring compatibility to the different platforms. The other developer predominantly works on the infrastructure and building systems as well.
As well as contributing to the shared tasks, you will have your own individual tasks and tech areas centralized around Telemetry and visualizing data and support the modding system
For gameplay data, you will work together with the Design team to translate design questions into what data should be collected, and how it can be visualized. You will also be managing the full stack for gameplay data at GSG, from collecting the data to creating dashboards that everyone at GSG can use.
Your Skills;
We expect That you have at least 3 years relevant working experience in a full time role.
You enjoy having your own area of expertise and are perfectly at ease working independently, taking ownership of your tasks.
You use your strong communication skills when connecting and collaborating with other crafts groups. You are ready to embrace the ever-changing, dynamic nature of code development.
While not mandatory, these skills are a plus:
Game Platforms: Experience with platforms like Xbox and Playstation can be a significant asset.
Backend Interest: If you're keen on backend development, we're poised for future growth.

If you are prone to seasickness - don’t worry we do not have offices on a ship But we are currently looking for bigger abodes (still centrally located in Copenhagen, close to public transport) as we are growing!

This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible. The position is based in Copenhagen. For this role we do not offer relocation or full remote work.

- C++ Expertise is a must: The work related to this role requires a Medium-level of experience with C++.
- Proficiency with data collection and visualization: You should be comfortable with specifying data to be collected, testing data validity, querying data, and working with data visualization tools.
- Proactive Software Development: You are expected to have enough experience to understand the challenges faced by the development team and develop tools that can make their work easier and better.
- Comfortable with API/SDK Integration: You will be supporting and potentially integrating these into DRG.
- Practical Mindset: You strive to get to the point where you can show your work rather than talk about it.
