DK project Scarlet Republics was funded in 10 hours! Grats to the team! :D
Currently at 77.840DKK. Let's hope it goes a lot further.

Crazy if they they can finish the game for virtually no money in relative Danish terms. But plenty of time to tally up the number. They have been self funding the Kickstarter development for the last 2 years (awesome by the way!)
So clearly they must have some basic survival skills that is needed.

Crossing fingers everything will turn out great.

Not sure how much DK development blood poured into this one?! But 5th Planet Games based in Copenhagen. Formerly Hugo Games, released Tintin Match a few days ago. Nice IP! Something more interesting could have made with it I guess. A little sad it's just another reskinned match-3 game. Of cause it won't be last match-3 game the world sees. ;) It is actually incredible how long the match 3 formula has endured. It does indeed work well. I wonder if it will ever outlive it's time?

Oh forgot to post the NVIDIA Marbles at Night | RTX Demo. The level of real time rendering is just out of this world. Just perfect!
(Ok I did spot a few motion blur/reflection artifacts here and there. But nothing that detracts from the bigger picture.)

So we have a Dune trailer from director Denis Villeneuve ! :) Looks pretty nice! With Blade Runner 2049 on his CV, I'll give it a watch! (Or at least wait for reviews).
They certainly went in a more grounded visual direction with this one. As opposed to other interpretations we have seen.

Dune goes a long way back for me. My first eyes on the IP was back in 1985 where Dune by David Lynch premiered in Denmark. Must have been around 9 years old when it came out. I never got to see it back then at the cinema. :|
But I was just super fascinating to me. Looking at the movie posters. Trailers and what not.
I watched the movie some years down the line.
But at that age I did get a hold of the Danish comic book (Klit). Still in my collection. :D
Never read the Frank Herbert book(s).

Also Remembering Dune on the Amiga. The music is still amazing!! The game was not that much my cup of tea. But it was fascinating.

BG Ollie has made (probably?) The best cover of the Amiga version

Dune II: The Battle for Arrakis was an ground breaking game for it's time. Played it a a lot! For me it was the birth of the RTS genre.
This also was just before box multi selection was introduced in RTS games.

Also the documentary Jodorowsky's Dune is worth a watch.

I tried to watch some of the Children of Dune series. But it really didn't stick with me at all.

But looking forward to Denis Villeneuve's movie! If anyone could pull it off it would be him.

Huh what!?

Stormblades. Kiloo's (Developed by Emerald City) sword slasher from 2015 suddenly hits a paid Steam release.
Quite unexpected! 😁
Haven't touched it in ages. Hope it has improved a lot since the original mobile release.

My gut feeling is that this is not really the best fit for the Steam crowd. And feels like an unnecessary release? Or maybe the calculation is that some young kids who was fans of the game on mobile 5 years ago. Has moved on to Steam and might buy it for nostalgic reasons. It has done 1 mil downloads on droid alone. So the game has some exposure to a fairly wide audience.

But let's hope Kiloo might develop and release new IP and premium games in the future for PC and consoles. And not just quick and cheap mobile F2P ports. Though I would be VERY surprised if they ever went down the route of premium PC games as a new focus. :)

This won't happen.. But imagine the Stormblades CG trailer.. fully realized as a PC/Console game with proper fitting gameplay and the production it would deserve.. I'd give that a shot actually!

So yeah... Facebook.... :rolleyes
But this leaves the door open to the competition with a more free and open approach.

Facebook Accounts Using Fake Names, Among Other Violations, Risk Losing Access to Oculus Content

With Facebook recently moving to require the use of a Facebook account with Oculus headsets we wanted to understand how violations of the company’s Facebook Community Standards would intersect with its headsets. The company says that violations—including accounts that do not use the user’s real name and date of birth—can result in losing access to Oculus headsets....
