OUCH! Serious layoffs at Epic. 16% of their work force. 830 people all in all will be affected.
I don't know too many people at Epic. But I hope they are all alright! Fingers crossed!

In short.. the Fortnite money is drying up and the transition to Fortnite as a UGC platform has not produced the results they were hoping for so far.
And it seems like this heavy handed move will weather the storm, we'll see!

Just recommending playing COCOON from @JeppeCarlsen and team at Geometric Interactive.
Had some time to play it through the weekend. Feels like playing a mix of Monument Valley, Portal and Journey for the first time. A small masterpiece! Much awesome!

The super talented team have previously having worked for various local games developers like Slipgate, SYBO, BetaDwarf, Brightstar and 3DRealms.
I've also had the pleasure to meet the founders and have a chat at the last Copenhagen MatchUp event.

A Dinolords devlog was posted by Northplay in spilhuset.

Apparently they were pitching a tycoon game to "big Danish toy maker". To me that sounded like a REALLY good call and a great match! Not sure what "Big Danish toy maker" was thinking?!?
There 'could' be a similar project is in the works internally or something about what they pitched!?
But who knows?!? large companies...

Oh my! Big Unity news!
Remember that the rest of the management team and board is probably still intact and the fundamental financial situation and owning structure of the company. It is still a company that at the end of the day needs to turn many years of "Unicorn play" into a solid business case for the investors.
But let's hope the next CEO will at least do less missteps in the process. Shouldn't be 'that hard'
Though it is fundamentally a challenging task for anybody picking up the dirty laundry of Unity.
Cautious optimism here and let's see who will be the new CEO.

Also COCOON made it to the small club of 'Overwhelmingly Positive' reviewed games on Steam with 97.42% positive reviews.

Currently at 97.42% on SteamDB. Beating Limbo, INSIDE and even Deep Rock Galactic by a small margin.
Still early days and things will change. But so far it looks like COCOON is among the highest rated Danish games on Steam ever that, made it to Overwhelmingly Positive reviews. (If not the highest?.. have not done enough research to completely conclude this yet)

You need 500 reviews in order for the OP indication to show.

Never doubted it would land there. They will probably also have to install an award cabinet in the near term.

Last game I worked on (Gerda - A Flame in Winter) got 98,65% though. But not enough reviews to make it to OP.
