Penge til projekter på Nordic Game

Unread post by jonaz.dk » 29 Apr 2010, 09:44

Support grants for six new Nordic game projects

The ceremony for this year’s first round of development grants took place during Nordic Game 2010 in Malmö, Sweden, where 3 million Danish kroners’ worth of funding found its way to the Nordic game industry.

The following six companies were granted support by the expert group:

Rocket Pack Ltd (Finland), DKK 600,000 for “Cats vs. Dogs” - a casual game with strong social and multiplayer elements, combining the “pick up and play” nature of casual games with the addictive multiplayer element of browser-based MMOs.

Prodigium Game Studios OY (Finland), DKK 550,000 for “Floorball League (FBL)” – a 3D Floorball sports game.

Tactile Entertainment ApS (Denmark), DKK 500,000 for “The Wolf in the Iron Forest” – based on the animation film, the game captures the compelling tale of the main character from the film. You get to play the main character as he gradually transforms into a werewolf in a breathtaking 3rd person action adventure..

Press Play ApS (Denmark), DKK 500,000 for “Tentacle Terror” – a unique arcade style platformer in three episodes, in which you help the squid like microscopic hero Lemmy fight the nauseous cuteness of Dr. Fluff.

ZAXIS Aps (Denmark), DKK 400,000 for ” You've Got Snail” – help 'the Snail' to save his beloved flowers from 'the Blossom Factory' in a fresh and humorous twist on the physic-puzzle genre.

Toltec Studios Ek. För (Sweden), DKK 250,000 for “The Ball” - a action/puzzle game with innovative physics driven gameplay. Playing from a first person perspective, you solve puzzles and crush monsters with a large physics driven ball.

In addition to the above-mentioned projects, two applicants were granted DKK 100,000 each to improve their application.

The application deadline for the second support round of 2010 will be 24:00 (midnight, at the end of the day) on 1 September 2010. More info will soon be available at www.nordicgameprogram.org, where you can learn about the funded games from previous rounds and download the application scheme as well.

The Nordic Game Program was launched in 2006 and is now in year five of six. It focuses on making Nordic electronic games more readily available to Nordic consumers, and the funding scheme is an important part of that process.

petervesti: nu ved jeg ikke om du laver sjov, men jeg er ret sikker på at der med "improve application" ikke kun menes et stykket papir med en ide, men nærmere en spilbar prototype/demo :)

Congrats til de heldige :)
