6+ måneders kontrakt Irland

Unread post by Nikolaj Hyldig » 27 Jul 2010, 11:56

- .NET SW Designer with strong WPF experience
- Data Expert with strong Data Mining and Machine Learning skills
- Cognitive Scientist

Fælles for alle 3 er denne (ret vage) beskrivelse:

Modern networks produce mountains and oceans of data. This data is collected from a great many sources; it is aggregated, sorted, collated, searched, and displayed in multiple scenarios; and presented for multiple uses and users. The identification of relevant data still largely revolves around the concept of producing tabular reports, which may sometimes be graphically represented (charts, graphs, maps).
We aim to identify what is relevant to the end user from the wealth of data, and create new ways of contextualizing the data for different end users.

Windows/.NET SW Designers
• 5+ years of professional work experience in developing commercial applications in a Windows environment
• Excellent knowledge of the following programming languages and technologies (mandatory): .NET3.5, C#, WPF, WCF, COM, and JavaScript. Knowledge of other related technologies such as XNA3, Silverlight, and Flash/Flex would be considered a bonus.
• Experience in using Visual Studio 2008 to design, implement, build and maintain complex software solutions, and familiarity with at least on version control system, preferably Rational Clearcase
• Experience in XML related technologies (KML, XML, XSD, XQuery, Xpath), is highly desirable.
• Some experience in developing for the Microsoft smartphone platform is highly desirable.

Data Expert
Modern telecommunications networks pose a number of challenging requirements related to the timely and efficient integration, interrogation, storage and subsequent retrieval of useful data. The data sources themselves may be heterogeneous, inaccessible, non-deterministic, dynamic and/or continuous. The ability to identify the wanted raw data, and collect, collate and aggregate it in a timely fashion, underpins the transformation of the raw data into useful information and knowledge. The pursuit of information and knowledge is limited by our ability to conquer the challenges posed above.
Therefore the role requires an individual with a sound understanding of data management across a number of domains;
• Statistics
• Data Mining / Knowledge Discovery / Machine learning
• Object and Relational Databases
• Ontologies, XML and RDF
• Data partitioning
A working knowledge of and/or experience of working with the following tools would be an advantage; Rapidminer, R, Protégé, etc.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate substantial knowledge of the data management domain, and it is expected that they will have 5+ years of industrial, or academic, experience in the area.

Cognitive Scientist
Understanding the behavior and reaction of the users to a given visual data representation is important, to develop understanding of the best ways to interact with the user.
A psychologist or cognitive scientist is required to help us develop our understanding of end-user behavior when using or interacting with our telecommunications management system prototype applications.
The cognitive scientist will be responsible for developing and introducing the methodologies by which user satisfaction with the prototype applications is measured, and identifying the mechanisms by which the applications can be improved. He/She will also work with the usability experts and visualization team to help develop the next generation of user interactions.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in understanding, modeling and describing user behavior in the context of using applications on computers, smartphones, etc. In addition, he/she will have experience in the design and/or critique of modern user interface metaphors and usage. He/she will be adept at describing user needs to facilitate user interaction design and information visualization.
Industrial experience of at least 5 years is a pre-requisite.
