Seems like (DK) Funday Factory is not only all about Snapchat games.
At Gamescom they just announced 'Don't Die In The West'.
"A 1-4 player western sandbox adventure. Explore, craft & fight through the Wild West. Coming soon to Steam."
A few sceenshots on the Steam page. Looks very mobile though in art design besides the more PC focused UI.

Watched the first episode of House of the Dragon with the kiddo (It's not super kids friendly) It was surprisingly good! A lot of the original Game of Thrones DNA is certainly there. It's off to a great start!
Wasn't suuuper sold on the trailer and images they have shown beforehand. But the show seems to be holding up on pretty much all fronts.
(I know most people are still traumatized by the few last seasons of GoT.. but give it a shot)
** Small update relating to fantasy shows in 2022.. just watched first episode of The Rings of Power. Hands down there is no competition with House of the Dragon. Rings was a suuuuper boring (rather pretty looking at times) mess, almost worthy of all the review bombings it can get. As objectivly I can speak.. it is just not a very good show at least judging from the very first episode. House of the Dragon is MILES ahead in 'quality of everything'. I really tried to go into the show with an open mind, but yeah... it didn't really hold up.
Not even sure I will spend my precious time watching ep. 2 of Rings, the first episode felt like a genuine waste of time.
The original Peter Jackson The Lord of the Rings trilogy was absolutely amazing. The Hobbit was a clear miss in my book (I know the process was rushed and PJ had a lot of odds working agains't him sadly.. he could have done something better with a better process I'm sure).. The Rings of Power (fanfic or whatever) is not even aiming, except for the wastebin.
*Adding.. it could be that I am a little more picky than most people. I could also only do 1 or 2 episodes of The Witcher and The Wheel of Time until I hit "The Wall of NOPE!" rather quickly.
(Henry Cavill was pretty cool.. but not enough to carry the show for me atleast)
** Update 2.. on ep. 7 now.. and the show has certainly have had it's moments. But there is very much a lack of adventure- Like the very lovely earlier season of Game of Thrones. Everything (well ok.. according to the name of the show) is very much focused on internal famility politics of the Targaryens and makes the show feel a little too static.
The sudden large timejumps was also very aprupt a breaking the flow.
But it would be nice if there was a bit more going on.. wars, adventure, clashes with other houses etc. All the things the made Game of Thrones so damn great. There isn't any threads leading to this currently though. Hmmm.. so that's a bit concerning if everything will be all about internal drama.
I hope they will step it up in future episodes/seasons.
The characters are also almost subpar with GoT. Daemon Targaryen is pretty badass though, but somewhat underutilized in the later episodes as their best character the show has to offer.
Let's see where it goes.. still hanging on for a while.

Oh just stumbled upon a rather unannounced?? (I think?! Or just completely missed it) SYBO game while trying to do a search on Tag to see how that is going. Not much news on that front, it's been quite quiet.
It apparently looks like they are going down the very well trodded Match-3 road with their new game
Subways Surfers Match
It's been out since June'ish 2022 or something. Brand and studio wise it's a bit on an odd match to be honest.
I can only assume they are testing out the concept to see if it sticks. 100.000+ downloads so far on GooglePlay from relevant countries.
Not officially available in Denmark as of yet.. Or maybe it's just a device thing as I can't seem to download the game.

Small indie outfit Vivanox from Tarm is closing down according to their FB page.

They have been around for quite a while (since 2011) and worked on a few games projects that didn't make it to release as far as I can see.
You can spot the projects as long as their website remains online

Good luck to everybody involved!

Re: News! Tech! Tools! Talks! Games! And Stuff Worth Sharing!
So there is a new startup in town, Raw Power Games based in Copenhagen and finally they have a website to show the world with a bit of info.
https://www.rawpowergames.com/
They are estimating a (probably optimistic) mid 2025 release of the first game (of a series of three) using a very high degree of AI (ML) and procedural tools to create the game, in the range of 90-95%. A game that looks like some sort of unspecified low fantasy medieval game.
Currently the early concept art looks like last-gen MidJourney generated images.
Kinda cool but also very mushy. But great to give a general mood pointer very quickly. These AI things are improving at an immense rate so expect improvement there.
The project will certainly be interesting to follow! Starting a team with huge ambitions and going from zero to AAA-like in the first run, using mostly AI and fully interactive procedurally generated worlds with a bunch of unproved or not even existing tech, in a short while, with a very high burn rate will not be an easy task.
I have a few alarm bells ringing even with all the funding in the world they seem to have. But I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
Adding: I would have less of a concern if they are able turn some larger nobs like. time in production (double at least), perhaps with a smaller core team developing all the tech with a bit lower ambitions across the board. It sounds like they have certainly set themselves up with a large bread in the oven (without know a lot of details). Also they are planning on having 60+ people on the team. So that will take a lot of effort to get running smoothly.
I'm sure they could have something playable up and running in 3'ish years. But something that is competitive with the titles of the day is a different matter. As always time will tell.
I already know a few (talented) guys working on the project and talked to a recruiter at some point. Though I have other plans.
Best of luck with the project!

So finally our game 'Gerda - A Flame in Winter' is out!
Let's see how that goes.... only very few user reviews so far. So not much to base anything of, but all 7 are positive.
So far the estimated sales are very much in line with my personal expectations from the very conceptual phase of the project... it's a little on the slow side. (Or let me rephrase that.. from the beginning without a publisher I would not have given the project many chances, after signing with Don't Nod I would turn up the expectations to a certain degree that is closer, or even a bit higher to what we see now on SteamDB).
https://steamdb.info/app/1771360/graphs/
Clearly the project was brilliant DFI bait.. but a strong commercial future was hard to see.
The best we can hope for is a slow burner that sells something over many years due to the good reception and the general perception of the studio is positive.
**Adding: Thinking it actually will make a pretty good long tail candidate now as we see the early very positive reception is just not a fluke, but have actual substance in numbers. So that's great!
Also the game has gotten a really good 83 metascore so far! (based on only 6 reviews so expect that number to change)
So that's actually above expectations!
6 review is only a very low resolution quality indicator.. but I'll take it!

The best story from launch day was this random guy we have never seen before, just walked into the office and handed me a bag of chococaramel candies and congratulated us with the release of the game! That was SOOO awesome!! <3
Had a little chat with him. Seemed like a super nice guy.. he had also done some work on a VR project with some friends.
Thank you Anders wherever you are!
